You Were a Precious Part of Us

You were a stillness amidst our storms. You were a bright light that shone through our darkness; a reflection of everything precious any one could ever hold in one lifetime. And in the entire world and all that it holds.... We needed you!  You became a part of us as we created memories of you that we now hold strong. We would never again be of one heart, for our hearts would forever hold you in it.

We saw within our memories the beautiful dream you had once dreamed…. to serve and protect our Country…. the Country of Canada that you held dear to your heart. You blanketed us with the security of your commitment. And the loss of you in our world created within each of us the faith and belief that… somewhere, some day, the loss of you would not be in vain!

And it has been so! Our new found awareness of the responsibility you carried so high on your broad shoulders…we now try to carry for you. Through the loss of you, we have found a determination to know and care for those with whom you served. We will continue your Journey through the pain in our glimpses of grief…. And in the quietude of our souls, we Honor You!

The legacy of your foundation will hold strong through the years. A shoulder is a gift that God gives each one of us for someone else to lean on ... And many times our people leaned on yours! When the day came and you left us..... We grieved. We grieved from within the very depths of our souls where there still lives a part of you. It was then that we realized you had become a part of our eternity! And it was then that we found the belief within ourselves that the dream we shared for Peace for our Country would span beyond your lifetime.......

It was then that we thanked God for giving us the beautiful gift of “You” in our lives. It was then that we became overwhelmingly thankful for the memories… memories creating dreams for a better tomorrow because of you. It was then that we realized..... You will always be a bright light that shines through our darkness. It was then that we realized.... life is a staircase to heaven and as God reaches out to those who go before us......

He looks down on His Loved Ones....

And Sends Us Back An Angel!!!!!

And today… we remember you as you continue your Watch from above!!

This writing has been done to Honour our four Royal Canadian Mounted Police Officers who died tragically while on duty on March 3, 2005. They belonged to the Whitecourt and Mayerthorpe, Alberta R.C..M.P. Detachments. They were killed while protecting our Country which we are so proud to call Canada. Our sympathy goes out to their Families and Fellow R.C..M.P. Officers! I hope my words have paid tribute to them in a way everyone can understand.
