The time had finally arrived for us to pick up our new
four-wheel ‘All Terrain Vehicle’. It is a sturdy, fine piece of machinery,
and we are proud of our ‘bike.'
Having never really had the opportunity to enjoy a cabin,
boat, skidoo or ATV, it was great for us to have those things to experience
after returning to Newfoundland to retire in 2000. “Out ‘round da bay ya
needs dis stuff!” an elderly gentlemen told me. I believe that to be true,
obeying all the environmental laws and exploring our vast land is a
wonderful experience.
When we arrived home from buying our newest ATV, my
husband took the it for a short run and deemed her a good solid machine. So
the conversation was ‘all about the bike’ of course. “How many kilometers is
on it now?”, I was stunned enough to ask.
“Maybe two or three I guess,” he answered with a strange
look.
“How come?” I persisted, “We drove her home 60 Km from
the dealership?”
With a glance of utter befuddlement, my husband restrained
himself and quietly said “The truck drove the 60KM, the bike was along for
the ride! Remember?”
Nuff said! I know when I'm defeated!
Bonnie Jarvis-Lowe-- Still somewhat bewildered by it all!!
