Take My Hand Little One

I was there the moment you were born, and as I gently cradled you
in my arms with the help of God, for the first time you lay with your little heart next to mine and filled it with an overwhelming love such as I had never known before. I slipped my finger into your tiny palm and promised that I would be there for you forever.
I looked down in awe at the beautiful sight of you and leaned over you and whispered, “Take my hand Little One…. take my hand”.
And in the days to come, I spent my days loving you. You held up your little arms to me and laughed from your heart as you tried so hard to put one little knee ahead of the other. You wobbled unsteadily back and forth; you may not have yet begun your journey of footsteps in life but the love you gave to my world at that moment spanned the distance between us. I smiled as I realized that the longest journey for you always ended in the warmth of my arms… and I reached out to hold you.
And I said, “Take my hand Little One…. take my hand”.
It was not long before you looked up with those beautiful sparking eyes… straight into my heart. I knelt down and held out my arms to you. One little foot ahead of the other you took your first precious footsteps forward and while your tiny arms reached out toward me and I leaned forward to break your fall…
I called, “Take my hand Little One….take my hand”.
And every day of my life, I will remember the day you left me… and
somewhere, in the far off distance, I knew I heard God whisper….
“Take My Hand Little One…. Take My Hand.”

This writing is dedicated to the memory of our “Little Ones”.
The world needs to join together and say to one another, “Take My Hand”…. and with a conviction in our hearts, we must Honour their memory until the day the world will say…
