Bobbies
Adventure
The trip was a
last minute decision, his older bro Tommy retired from UPS and the gang down
in FL were given him a surprise retirement party at the "Warehouse Pub" an
old hangout from the guys and gals. So that's how the trip started. But on
the way we (Bobby, me and bro-Jeff) took our time and when we wanted to stop
somewhere we did. Especially at the Harley Davidson stores-Had to have my
thrill too! hehe!!
The Bud car was
at Daytona, we lucked up there on the day they were given rides.(no not
free) He was glad it was Jr's but would rather liked it being Tony
Stewart's. Just the same he would have ridden in any car that day. And yes
he did do 165 m.p,.h. at two and half laps. WhaaWhoo! From there we went to
Delray Beach stayed on the beach there for a couple of nights, still Tommy
not knowing we're in town or about the party. So we stayed hidden for that
time visiting our old friends and other bro's. We left coming home on Wed to
Sebastian to Sky Dive. Through a friend he told us this was the best place
to go especially in Bob's case. They were skilled at jumping with disabled
people-so we chose them. We had to wait over an hour to jump, not much wind,
but when we finally got Bob suited up, everything fell in place. I tell you,
it was so awesome how they handled Bobby. These young and yes very
good-looking South African men knew just what to do. Along for the ride was
Bob's oldest bro John(boatcaptain in Boca). Jeff and I were the camera crew
and of course planted ourselves on the God's green grass! The tandem jumper
with Bob was great. He had a smile on his face the whole time. He told Bob
he has jumped over 9,000 times. Wow!! I knew then I had nothing to worry
about and I didn't! Can't wait to show the video to you. You will feel the
most rewarding-heartwarming feeling once you see it. I cry every time I
watch it. I know I'm rattling on ,but gosh I can't type hardly as fast as
I'm thinking. Bobby said today, he's ready to go back. We're hoping when we
do, Rusty will jump with him. We'll see! I tried to get Bob to sign a deal
with me. I told him if he got to jump then I get a bike! He just grinned . I
will definitely hold it to him for the second jump for sure. Take care and
come to NC soon! Looks like John and Gail are doing some traveling this
summer, so come on up to the hills!
