JACK CARLIN'S STORY
*NOTE: I received this in my email and have put this here directly as it was received:
Good Morning George, My name is Jack Carlin. I live in Va. originally from NY. I am sixty-two, finally dx with bulbar in July of ninety-eight after a year of testing. We were told that I would not be here for Christmas of that year! Well, I am still on this side of the sod! Now, I can barely speak, arms weak, have to wear a neck brace. I can still eat, swallow and breath on my own. I just got a power chair because of my balance or lack of it and was tired of falling and not being able to get back up unassisted. I rely on my computer to stay informed and in contact with friends, family and the outside world. I have written some of my personal life short stories, two of which were used in the ALSA DC / MD / VA chapter newsletter. I am forwarding those two for you to read and print if you choose to. I just found your site and found it very informative. It's a great place for everyone involved in this devastating disease to come and be reassured that they are not alone. Thank you for your time and effort in helping others! God Bless ~ Jack Carlin
