A VISIT TO THE ALS CLINIC IN LONDON, ONTARIO

Recently I had my visit to the ALS Clinic in London.  Quite often people have asked me just what happens at the clinic and with that in mind I took the camera along.  I did miss a couple of regulars from the clinic, Marna who as a rule takes you from place to place and the Speech Pathologist who was not there on this visit.  Anyone who has had those tests will understand my disappointment at that one!!

This is my timetable for the day:

Signing in at 10:00am.

Marna's replacement for the day, sorry for being terrible with names but I was guided to all the required places with no problems.

Cora with a "deep breath in and blow it out, harder, harder, harder.  Will miss you Cora but happy retirement.

Off to visit Karen the P.T. and to get told again, as usual, what I am doing wrong.

On to the O.T., Leanna,  to check out hand strength and any problems with mobility

Anne, who believes half of what I say and gets the whole truth from Shirley, love ya Anne!

Sue, the Dietitian, makes sure that I am eating the right things and that the weight stays on.

The Social Worker, Mihelle, checks on me keeping busy and not going a little more strange than I already am.

Dr. Strong, the very best that I have ever met both as a person and a Doctor.  It is always a pleasure to see him.

She warned my life but here goes, Leslie the Lovely says "see you next time"

Then it is a mad dash to the Bus Depot and the ride home.  What a swell bunch of people who do their very best to make you feel at ease about your visit and are just nice people that I look forward to meeting again each trip to London.

and the next day:

I also managed to find a picture of Dr. Stong's very favorite diagnostic tool:
